The Cook Islands police have called off the search for 22-year-old Luke Vakayawa who fell overboard on an inter-island ferry over the weekend.
Mr Vakayawa from Fiji was a crew member on Lady Moana, which was returning to Rarotonga from Managia.
Police spokesperson Trevor Pitt told RNZ Pacific's Caleb Fotheringham the lifesaver ring that had been deployed when Mr Vakayawa went overboard was found.
He says police had done as much as they could in its search effort.
